Women’s Asia Cup T20 2024 : The Indian women’s cricket team will take on arch-rivals Pakistan in their opening group match on July 19. The 2024 Women’s Asian Cup Final is scheduled to take place on July 28.
The Indian women’s cricket team is aiming to successfully defend its title in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024, which begins in Sri Lanka on July 19. It will be the ninth edition of the continental cricket championship and will feature the top eight women’s cricket teams from across Asia. The 2024 T20 Women’s Asia Cup will be available on live streaming and streaming in India.
The Indian cricket team won the last Women’s Asia Cup in 2022 by defeating Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the final held at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Bangladesh. Sri Lanka is the host this year and the eight participating countries have been divided into two groups of four each.
The teams will face each other once in the group stage. India are placed in Group A along with Pakistan, Nepal and the United Arab Emirates. India are scheduled to take on Pakistan on July 19 in their first match of the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024, followed by the UAE on July 21 and Nepal on July 23.
After the group stage, the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. The semi-final match is scheduled to be held on July 26 and the final match on July 28 at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.
The Indian national team is the most successful team in the history of the Women’s Asian Cup, having won seven titles. Bangladesh has won once while Sri Lanka is yet to win despite reaching five finals. Pakistan has reached the final twice.
Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the 15-member Indian team in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024 while opener Smriti Mandhana will be the vice-captain.
